"DADDY, I GOT SOMETHING"

It was our first time at Keen Lake and my 8 year old son Tyler Evans was so excited to go fishing, and couldnt wait to out fish his father. It turned into a competition and guess what...he won!!!

He yells "daddy I got something", then he said "nevermind", then he says again "I got something".
It took him a while to reel it in, but he finally managed to drag it onto the bank.

That fish brought a tear to my eye, and only because he out fished me, but if you could have seen the look on his face it was priceless, and I was so proud of him He was the happiest little boy, but then it happened....I said Tyler hold the fish so I can take your picture with it, that's when he got scared and refused to hold it cause he was afraid it would bite him.

Thanks

"I GOT A FISH AND IT'S GOING TO PULL ME IN"

To all,
Again I would like to thank you for a great week. As always everyone was very courteous to all of us and the campsite was great. The reason I am writing is I have a little fish story that I have to tell.

My nephew came up to stay with us for the last 2 days of our week.He brought along his wife Vickie and his children Connor and Colleen. All Connor talked about was he wanted to go fishing so after we helped set up the tent we took him down to the lake off the dock.So we cast the line for him and he would reel it right back in. One time he was reeling in and he got right to the pier and started yelling "Daddy,Uncle Mike I got a fish and its going to pull me in the water".

What we pulled out was amazing. It was a 3lb large mouth approx. 17 in. long. When he reeled it in he showed everyone including bringing it into the office and he told everyone " Thats my fish I caught it and its the biggest fish I ever saw". Again i just want to thank you for making a 3 year olds dream come true. He"s been home 3 weeks and still talks about it. Im sending along a picture with Connor DiVenti and his dad Mike. I will definitely be back and of course they are coming back but this time they are coming for the week.

Thanks again,
Mike and Phyllis Pulaski

"LET HIM HOLD THE POLE, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN" - NOT

Dear Jan,

Last year was our first family vacation at Keen Lake. I was 2 1/2 at the time. My Daddy had always camped there when he was a kid and he wanted to take us. He told us the stories about the big rock he used to fish off of.

Well my Daddy, my Mommy and I went to the boat dock to fish for a bit. I was strapped into my stroller so that I wouldn't run around too much while we fished. Daddy had to go to the bathroom so he gave me his fishing rod to hold for him. Next thing I knew, Mommy started yelling that the bobber was going up and down and I had to start reeling it in as fast as I could. I think Mommy got scared that whatever was on the other end was going to pull me and my stroller right into the lake, so she helped a bit.

When my Mommy pulled up the line there was a really big fish on the other end. When Daddy finally got back from the bathroom, he was so surprised that I caught a 17" 2 1/2 pound big mouth bass. All Daddy caught was some seaweed and a turtle. I think he was a little jealous, but he was also very proud of me. I think he has shown everyone in the world this picture. Can't wait to go fishing again this year!!! Maybe Daddy will catch something too.

"DAD, I'M SNAGGED"

Dear Jan,

My son and I have been coming to Keen Lake for about 8 years. We have made a lot of friends and many fantastic memories. One such memory stands out - the day we caught this fish!

At first Landon and I both thought that Landon's line was snagged on some weeds back near the large rock across the lake from the _____ sites. (Well, did you think I was going to tell you exactly where we caught this fish?? NO WAY)

We motored the boat closer to what we thought was the snag. Landon said, "Dad, use the net and pull up the weeds, and you can untangle the snag". Then there it was looking right at me with his large mouth wide open--A BEAUTIFUL KEEN LAKE LARGE MOUTH BASS! Just then, Landon's pole bent in half and the fish was off and running! Landon screamed, "Dad, it's a fish!" At just that moment, the fish leapt from the water. Neither of us could believe how big it was. Landon reeled in his line. What a fight!! What a fish!! What a memory!! The excitement was over. Then he said, "Dad, it feels like I'm snagged again.

So I motored up to the snag.
